She has orange painted machinery on deck abreast number 4 hatch and her cranes are in the raised position. She has the P & O shadow logo on her funnel, a corn coloured hull and her starboard anchor chain is suspended from the upper hawse ready for deployment. The photographer is in an aircraft . The Royal Navy frigate Chichester (1955), seen from off her starboard beam, is alongside the Royal Navy base HMS Tamar on Hong Kong Island in the background. Her pendant number is F59.
