On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Melita (1971) under way in Grand Harbour, Malta, bound in for The Marsa. The photographer is looking forward and slightly to port from the starboard bridge wing showing the Stulcken derrick, the forward deck crane and the forecastle. The ship is heading into The Marsa and berthed alongside the Deep Water Quay on the right are the cargo ships Vidaland (1954) (stern only in picture), Taupo (1966) and Bellatrix (1969). The grey-hulled Bellatrix has an unidentified vessel berthed outboard.
