A slightly distant port bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Strathcarrol (1970) in an Arabian port, possibly Bahrain. The ship has a corn coloured hull and is using her own cranes to work cargo with lorries on the quayside. The ship is badly obscured by dockside cranes and vessels in the foreground, which include a dhow and four motor patrol boats of the same class. The single masted dhow has a high wooden plank prow painted with a black top and surmounted by a black and white striped pole holding a model of a streamlined jet aircraft. A local man on the quayside is wearing an heavy overcoat and a long scarf.
