On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Mataura (1968) or Manapouri (1968) working cargo alongside a berth in the Port of London. The photographer is looking aft from the starboard side of the forecastle abreast the forward bipod mast. The ship is berthed port side to the wharf and she is using her own cranes to load cargo. Packing cases from the Ford factory destined for Auckland, New Zealand, are stacked in number two hold. A white painted 20 feet P & O container is on the starboard side of the deck abreast number two hatch coaming. The two-storey concrete sheds on the quayside are numbered 8, 9 and 10. Transparencies numbers P64705CT to P64714CT were taken on the same occasion.
