A close view of the starboard side of the forepart of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Stratharlick (1969) in the South West India Dock, London. She is berthed port side to Berth N and is loading a Port of London Authority steel lighter using her 150 ton Stulcken derrick. The photographer is looking across a number of lighters in the foreground. The lift has commenced and the lighter's bow has been lifted clear of the water. The ship already has a deck cargo of Ford D series motor lorries on number three hatch. Alongside Berth M in the background is the Dutch cargo liner Flintshire (1962), seen from dead astern. Transparencies numbers P64715CT to P64724CT were taken on the same occasion.
