On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Melita (1971) alongside a berth in Liverpool Docks. The photographer is on the starboard side of the deck near the masthouse looking aft and to port into number three hold showing a Clark 48-C75 fork lift truck working in the hold. It is about to move a pallet of boxed goods destined for Malta. Already positioned at the back of the hold are packing case and boxes destined for Malta and against the port side are packing cases destined for Piraeus and for the Aegean.
