The ship is using her own 30 ton derrick to lift the vehicle out of the hold. The photographer is looking to starboard from an elevated dockside position showing the ship's masthouse and number two hold. The ship is berthed alongside a wharf which is equipped with track mounted pedestal cranes and looks out on an open estuary.
