On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Melita (1971) alongside a berth in Liverpool Docks. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is on the starboard side of the deck abreast the forward end of number three hold looking down and to port showing a pallet of cardboard drums bring lowered to the bottom of the hold, guided by two men. Two other pallets of these drums have already been loaded. At the forward end of the hold is a large number of drums of Shell Alvania Grease. Transparencies P64788CT, P64789CT and P64821CT to P64836CT were taken on the same occasion.
