The photographer is on the port side of the aft emd of the forecastle deck abreast the forward crane looking to starboard and aft. A man is standing by the joystick control of the crane. Number one hold is open and has a large amount of general cargo in it, all destined for Mediterranean ports. To starboard of the hold is a deck cargo of hazardous materials including 30 blue-painted drums of Arquad 2HT-75 dimethyl ammonium chloride destined for Piraeus.
