A workman completing a reinforced eye in the end of a hemp rope in the R. & H. Green & Silley Weir rope section building in the Royal Albert Dock, London. Six strands of steel wire have been interwoven with the rope strands. The man is resting the rope on a large circular wooden block and is using a large steel ball pein hammer to flatten down the strands at the base of the eye. Transparencies numbers P64846CT to P64848CT were taken on the same occasion.
