The British India Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Santhia (1950) embarking passengers alongside a wharf at Singapore. The photographer is on the quayside which is thronged with local people and a large number of bicycles. He is abreast the bow of the ship looking aft showing her port side with safety nets hanging over the side in way of number two hold. Singapore Harbour Board brow number 8 with a B-I banner is rigged for the embarkation of passengers. Transparencies numbers PCT405 to PCT412 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
