On board the British India Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Santhia (1950) while embarking passengers alongside a wharf at Singapore. The ship is berthed port side to the quay and the photographer is at the top of the accommodation ladder looking forward and down on the quayside. A large number of local people and many bicycles are on the quay. The Singapore Harbour Board brow number 8 with a B-I banner is rigged for the embarkation of passengers and a table has been set up at the foot of the brow. Transparencies numbers PCT405 to PCT412 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
