On board a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner of the Strathardle class (1967), probably near Tamano, Japan
On board a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner of the Strathardle class (1967), probably near Tamano, Japan. The photographer is looking outboard and down into an open hold which contains a large number of wooden packing cases and boxes. On the floor of the hold is a cargo of boxes destined for Hamburg and in the tween deck is a cargo of boxes for Aden. This is possibly number one on the forecastle or number seven hold on the poop. A vertical format image.
