A close-up view of the starboard side of the bow of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Strathardle (1967) while alongside a wharf in a Japanese port. The photographer is on the quayside abreast number 3 hold looking forward and to port showing nets suspended over the ship's side in way of numbers 1, 2 and 3 holds. The ship is using her own cranes to load cargo brought to the quayside by motor lorries. A cargo net containing boxes of Taiyo products is being swung towards number 3 hold. Transparencies numbers PCT611 to PCT615 and PCT626 to PCT628 were taken on the same occasion.
