He is facing aft and he is holding a pair of binoculars. The photographer is looking forward and up showing the ship's signal mast with the Blue Ensign and the P & O houseflag flying. The Irfon arrived in port at Vitoria on 6 July and sailed fully loaded on 7 July 1974. Transparencies numbers PCT792 to PCT807 and PCT814 to PCT951 were taken during the same stay in port.
