A close-up view of the starboard side of the bow of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Strathardle (1967) while alongside a wharf in a Japanese port. The photographer is on the quayside abreast the bow looking to port and showing nets suspended over the ship's side in way of numbers 1 and 2 holds. Two lorries are near to the ship and a number of Honda estate cars are on the quay awaiting shipment. The Strathardle was handed over to P & O on 20 January and loaded cargo at Kobe before sailing for Yokohama on 26 January. After loading more cargo at Yokohama she sailed on 3 February for Hong Kong to continue her maiden voyage to London.
