Loading cars on board a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner of the Strathardle (1967) class in an unknown Japanese port. The photographer is on the quayside looking forward and to port from abreast the superstructure showing the starboard side of the forepart of the ship. A white estate car is being lowered into number five hold while another one is standing on the quay. Cardboard boxes are stacked on the quayside and some are being taken aboard into numbers two and three holds.
