The British India Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Chakdara (1951) unloading a cargo of Tanganyika sisal at Sunderland, Durham. The photographer is on board the ship looking aft and to port showing bales of sisal about to be hoisted from number 4 hold. The bales are labelled TASMA (Tanganyika Sisal Marketing Assocation). Temporary horse stalls are on deck abreast the hatch coaming. Negatives PM1792/4A to PM1796/30A were taken on the same occasion.
