The British India Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Chakdara (1951) unloading a cargo of Tanganyika sisal at Sunderland, Durham. The photographer is on board the ship looking aft and to port from ahead of the funnel showing bales of sisal being swung ashore from number 4 hold. The bales are labelled TASMA (Tanganyika Sisal Marketing Assocation). They are about to be lowered onto the first floor balcony of a storage shed. Negatives PM1792/4A to PM1796/30A were taken on the same occasion.
