Looking down on numbers 1 and 2 holds of the British India Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Chakdara (1951) from the 1st floor balcony of a storage shed on a quay at Sunderland, Durham. Number 1 hatch is closed and dockers are relaxing on it. Dockside cranes are being used to discharge the cargo of bales of Tanganyika sisal from number 2 hold. The bales are labelled TASMA (Tanganyika Sisal Marketing Association). Negatives PM1792/4A to PM1796/30A were taken on the same occasion.
