Students lining the ship's rail on the forward sports deck of the British India Steam Navigation Company educational cruise ship Nevasa (1956) as she passes through the Strait of Gibraltar. The students and other passengers are standing under lifeboat number 2 and ahead of lifeboat number 4 and the Rock of Gibraltar can be seen in the background. The rock has a crescent of cloud above it. The photographer is R. Spillman and the ship is on a cruise from Southampton to the Holy Land and Greece. Negatives PM1818/5 to PM1820/16 were taken on the same day.
