A starboard bow view, taken from just ahead of the bow, of the cargo liner Manapouri (1968) unloading containers in London Docks. The ship's own derrick, fitted with a lifting frame, is being used to unload 20 feet EUR containers. Dockers are connecting the frame to a container on number 3 hatch and other containers are on number 4 hatch. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and another vessel is astern of her. A dumb lighter is betwwen the ship's bow and the quay. Negatives number PM1896/2 to PM1898/9 were taken on the same occasion.
