A bow view of the Bank Line cargo vessel Inverbank (1924) in the King George V dry dock at Calcutta, India. The photographer, who was serving as an apprentice on board the ship, is standing on the floor of the dock. The ship was in dry dock to inspect grounding damage received near Yokohama where the ship was calling to bunker when on voyage from Kamaishi to Calcutta. The bottom plating had been set up slightly and the deep tanks had been sealed with cement. A vertical format negative.
