A general view of the anchorage and waterfront at Tocopilla, Chile. An unidentified two-hold cargo ship is at anchor. The photographer was serving as an apprentice on board the Bank Line cargo vessel Inverbank (1924) which was in port to discharge a part cargo which had been loaded at Calcutta, Rangoon and Batavia. Slide 17 from the "Apprentice Boy", Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture about his life as an apprentice for Bank Line in the period 1937-1941. The lecture consists of 39 slides.
