Senior apprentice John Naylor doing his ironing on board the Bank Line cargo vessel Inverbank (1924) while under way at sea. The apprentice Kenneth Glass is relaxing in a deck chair. They are on the aft end of the boat deck and the ship is heading home to Liverpool from Buenos Aires with a mixed general cargo. The photographer, also an apprentice, is looking to starboard from the port side showing the stern of lifeboat number 3 under its davits. Slide 24 from the "Apprentice Boy", Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture about his life as an apprentice for Bank Line in the period 1937-1941. The lecture consists of 39 slides.
