The photographer, an apprentice serving on board the Bank Line cargo vessel Tymeric (1919), is on a shore excursion from his ship which is in port at Port Kembla. Slide 29 from the "Apprentice Boy", Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture about his life as an apprentice for Bank Line in the period 1937-1941. The lecture consists of 39 slides.
