On board the general cargo ship Eskdalegate (1969) loading timber at Ronnebyhamn, Sweden. The photographer is looking forward from the port side of the bridge showing the Munck Transporter Crane positioned amidships. Both hatches are open and the ship is loading bundled sawn timber into number one hold using quayside mobile cranes. This is Slide 3 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Lumber, Lorries and Luck", about his service as Second Officer on board the Eskdalegate from 13 November 1976 to May 1977. The lecture consists of 44 out of 45 slides (Slide 1 is missing).
