A close port quarter view of the forepart of the general cargo ship Eskdalegate (1969) alongside a quay at Ostend, Belgium, with a full deck cargo of lorry chassis. The photographer is on the quayside abreast the aft superstructure looking forward showing 28 red Volvo chassis that had been loaded at Gothenburg and 61 grey Mercedes chassis that had just been loaded. All of the chassis on number two hatch have been securely lashed down with wire rope and stevedores are lashing down the chassis on number one hatch. The lorries were destined for Tartous in Syria.
