Looking forward and to port from the starboard side of the bridge on board the general cargo ship Eskdalegate (1969) while discharging a deck cargo of lorry chassis at Ṭarṭūs, Syria. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and is using her Munck Transporter Crane to unload some of the lorries. It is lifting a Mercedes chassis from off number two hatch. A floating crane by the port side of the ship is lifting a Volvo chassis from number one hatch. This is Slide 9 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Lumber, Lorries and Luck", about his service as Second Officer on board the Eskdalegate from 13 November 1976 to May 1977. The lecture consists of 44 out of 45 slides (Slide 1 is missing).
