Lorries waiting on the quayside at Iskenderun, Turkey, to be loaded with timber being discharged by the general cargo ship Eskdalegate (1969). The bundled sawn timber was loaded at Ronnebyhamn, Sweden, in November. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and the photographer is looking to starboard and forward from the bridge showing the open number two hold in the foreground. This is Slide 12 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Lumber, Lorries and Luck", about his service as Second Officer on board the Eskdalegate from 13 November 1976 to May 1977. The lecture consists of 44 out of 45 slides (Slide 1 is missing).
