On board the cargo ship Eskdalegate (1969) working a cement coke cargo from a bulk carrier anchored in the Gabon River off Owendo, Gabon. The photographer is looking into a hold while the Munck Transporter is using a grab to move the cement coke from the port to the starboard side of the hold, creating clouds of choking dust. The shadow of the photographer can be seen in the dust cloud. This is Slide 38 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Lumber, Lorries and Luck", about his service as Second Officer on board the Eskdalegate from 13 November 1976 to May 1977. The lecture consists of 44 out of 45 slides (Slide 1 is missing).
