A cement factory at Owendo, Gabon. The photographer is on board the cargo ship Eskdalegate (1969) which was used to lighter a cargo of cement coke to the factory pier from a bulk carrier anchored in the Gabon River. This is Slide 39 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Lumber, Lorries and Luck", about his service as Second Officer on board the Eskdalegate from 13 November 1976 to May 1977. The lecture consists of 44 out of 45 slides (Slide 1 is missing).
