The dedication service for the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) in King George Dock, Hull.
The dedication service for the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) in King George Dock, Hull. She is berthed starboard side to the quay and is dressed overall. Sir Hugh L. Goodson, 1st Chairman of the Sail Training Association, is making a speech on the rostrum on the quayside and he is accompanied by his wife, June Goodson, and the Bishop of Hull, the Rt. Rev. H.L. Higgs. Members of the press are in a semi-circle in front of the rostrum and a band is on the left. All of the forepart and the tops of the main and mizzen masts are out of the picture and the schooner's hull is below the quayside. The forepart of the general cargo ship Roula (1933), seen from wide off her port bow, is alongside a wharf in the background.
