Captain Griffiths and another man standing by two miniature brass cannons displayed on a tabletop on the starboard side of the bridge on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) in Portsmouth Harbour.
Captain Glynn Griffiths and another man standing by two miniature brass cannons displayed on a tabletop on the starboard side of the bridge on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) in Portsmouth Harbour. The two cannons were presented by the Signals Research & Development Establishment, Christchurch, on May 27th 1967. Behind the table is a panel holding the switches for the ship's deck and navigation lights. The captain is wearing a civilian suit and tie, has his arms folded and is looking towards the cannons. The other man is wearing a tweed overcoat, is holding some documents and is also looking at the cannons. The photographer is looking forward showing the binnacle, the radar mast and the 'H' top boiler flue on the deckhouse top. This may be the occasion of the presentation of the cannon to the Sail Training Association. Negatives numbers P50113 to P50120 were taken on the same day.
