Three girl trainees hauling on a halyard on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while under sail in the Solent. The nearest trainee has an MZ4 armband. They are being supervised by one of the crew and are on the port side of the deck alongside the Lambie B Class motor lifeboat. The mizzen sail is hanging loose below its boom and is presumably being hoisted. The photographer is looking aft and passing in the distance is the United States Lines passenger liner United States (1952).
