Three girl trainees hauling on a line on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while under sail in Spithead.

Three girl trainees hauling on a mainmast line on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while under sail in Spithead. The nearest trainee has an MZWL armband (Mizzen Watch Leader) and the third girl is wearing the MZ4 armband. They are on the starboard side of the deck and the two Oyster Sloops stacked dory fashion are aft of them. The mizzen sail is hanging loose above the sloops and is presumably being hoisted. The photographer is looking aft and passing in the distance is a Royal Navy Type 15 frigate.
