Activity on the bridge on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Malcolm Miller (1968) while under way in Spithead heading for Southampton Water. One of the ship's officers is using the ship-to-shore radio telephone while the ship is on the port tack. The ship is crewed by girl trainees and one is at the helm while another is in the foreground with a notebook and pencils in her hands. All of the people are looking to port except for the photographer who is looking aft from the centreline of the deckhouse top.
