Trainees working with the Bermudan mizzen on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while under sail in the Solent. Some of the boys are pulling on a halyard on the port side of the deck between the Lambie Class B motor lifeboat and the mizzen boom. Part of the sail is hanging down below the boom. The photographer is looking aft from the port side of the deckhouse top and, in the foreground, is one of the ship's officers looking to starboard and he has a pair of binoculars round his neck. A large tanker in ballast is being assisted by tugs in the right background.
