Trainees on the deckhouse top working on the mainsail lashings on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while under sail in the Solent. They are to port of the mainsail boom and two of them are standing on the protective steel framing over the helmsman's position. The Bermudan mizzen has already been set. On the port side of the bridge is the Second Officer wearing a white shirt and dark tie and he is looking to port through binoculars. Another two men in white shirts and dark ties are to port of the helmsman. The photographer is looking aft from the port side of the deckhouse top.
