Winston Churchill, MP for Stretford, on the starboard side of the bridge on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while she is under sail off Hythe in Southampton Water, bound in for Southampton Docks. He is looking down to his left. Behind him are a photographer making his way forward and a senior official of the Sail Training Assocation. A boy trainee is at the helm. The mainsail has been stowed and trainees are taking in the mizzen. The photographer is looking aft from the starboard side of the deckhouse top abreast the radar mast.
