A group of girl trainees pulling on a mainsail halyard on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Malcolm Miller (1968) while under sail in the Solent. They are on the starboard side of the deck and are pulling aft. One of the ship's officers is looking at the girls but the captain is looking forward unconcernedly. The photographer is looking aft from the deckhouse top just forward of the radar mast.
