The unidentified captain is in uniform but is not wearing his cap and he is looking to port. He has a moustache and is wearing metal-framed sunglasses. The person at the helm is in wet weather gear and is also looking to port. A trainee on the starboard side of the bridge is wearing a heavy woollen guernsey and is looking at the photographer. The photographer is looking aft from the starboard side of the deckhouse top just ahead of the bridge. The mizzen is set.
