A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the three-masted barque-rigged cadet training ship Gorch Fock (1958) at anchor in the Solent off Cowes. At anchor beyond her, and also seen from abaft the starboard beam, is the Polish ship-rigged training vessel Dar Pomorza (1909). They are both in the Solent for the Tall Ships Race to the Skaw which started on 16 August 1972. A number of small yachts, dinghies, pilot launches and motor leisure craft are in the picture.
