A very distant starboard side view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the three-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) under sail in the Solent off Cowes. She has seven of her fore-and-aft sails and her square topsail set. Under sail on the left, and seen from off her port side, is another 3-masted topsail schooner which has not been identified but she is the subject of negatives numbers P50565 and P50566. The Churchill is in the Solent for the Tall Ships Race to the Skaw which started on 16 August 1972. A ketch rigged yacht is also in the picture.
