The foremast of the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) being lifted on the quayside of the East Branch Dock in Tilbury Docks, Essex, during her annual refit.

The foremast of the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) being lifted on the quayside of the East Branch Dock in Tilbury Docks, Essex, during her annual refit. A quayside crane has lifted the mast into a near vertical position before swinging it onto the ship. The Sir Winston Churchill is berthed port side to the quay and is seen from ahead of her port bow with her mainmast in position but the mizzen is still missing. Astern of the Churchill is the cargo liner Glenfalloch (1963) and berthed on the opposite side of the basin is the Norwegian cargo ship Montevideo (1954). A vertical format negative. Negative numbers P50605 to P50630 were taken on the same occasion.
