A stern view of the 3 masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) under sail in Southampton Water, bound out from Southampton. Two of her trainees are on the topsail yard footropes preparing to release the square topsail. The photographer is on board her near sister, the Malcolm Miller (1968), which is following the Churchill, and is looking forward from the port side of deckhouse top. The Miller's foredeck and bowsprit are in the foreground and she has her fore staysail and inner jib set. A vertical format negative.
