A starboard bow view taken from fine off the starboard bow of the refrigerated fruit carrier Jamaica Planter (1959) berthed at Montego Bay, Jamaica. The port anchor is deployed and the starboard anchor is suspended from the hawse. Jamaican men are in the background approaching the gangway onto the Jamaica Planter. The photographer is standing on the quayside and looking south/south west towards Reading in the background. This is Slide 23 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Caribbean Cargoes", about his service as Second Officer on board Jamaica Planter (1959) and Port Officer for Jamaica Banana Producers Steam Ship Company based at Kingston, Jamaica from 6 January 1971 to 26 April 1971. The lecture consists of 45 slides.
