He has a lanyard round his neck and is standing on the starboard side of the fore deck abreast the accommodation skylight The apple is one of those presented to the ship by John Roundell Palmer, Lord Wolmer, representing the Apple & Pear Development Council. The photographer is looking forward and to port from the starboard side and Portsmouth Dockyard is in the left background. Negative number PM11729/32 is also of this boy. Negatives numbers PM11725/11 to PM11730/37 were taken on the same occasion.
