A port broadside view of the lug rigged yacht Sea Gull (1874) under sail in the Downs. She has a lute stern and has a lug foresail and mizzen and a jib set on a traveller. She has a crew of two who are dressed in oilskins and sou'westers. The Sea Gull was owned by Edgar Tarry Adams and he may be the man at the tiller. Square rigged sailing vessels are anchored in the background. Negatives numbers G5561, G5562 and G5564 are of the same vessel on the same occasion.
