A starboard bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of the Sandpiper (1899), a single masted, lug-rigged, clinker built dinghy under sail with one occupant in the Downs. The Sandpiper is owned by the Edgar Tarry Adams family. A man in a racing canoe is beyond the lugsail. A single funnel steamer and a Thames spritsail barge are on the horizon.
